This Taiwan Chair is based on the Memorandum of Understanding signed by the Ghent University, the University of Groningen, the Georg-August Universität Göttingen, the University of Tartu, and the Department of International and Cross-Strait Education (DICE), Ministry of Education (MOE), Taiwan.

The “Taiwan Studies Programme at UGent/RUG//UTartu” has a duration of 3 academic years from the effective date of the signing by the Ministry of Education (MOE), Republic of China (Taiwan).

The goal of this first call for applications is twofold as we aim to find:

1) a candidate (Taiwan Chair holder) for the second semester of the new academic year 2025-2026 in the University of Tartu (Estonia).

2) a candidate (Taiwan Chair holder) for the second semester of the new academic year 2025-2026 in the University of Groningen (The Netherlands).

Each of the two professorial fellowships offered by the programme in the framework of this first call for applications should be occupied by one candidate, with a duration of 4 months per stay.

DEADLINE FOR APPLICATIONS: For both positions the applications should be submitted the latest by Friday 24 October 2025, 9:00 am CET.

The selection results will be announced by the middle of November 2025.
