On behalf of the School of Continuing Education at Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU SCE), we would like to extend you an invitation for possible opportunities in COIL collaboration with HKBU SCE.
Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) is an innovative form of virtual exchange that brings students and professors together from diverse cultures to engage in learning, discussions, and collaborative projects as an integral part of their coursework. COIL enables students and faculties from different locations around the world to participate in and collaborate on activities and projects through various forms of virtual exchange platforms & technologies. By integrating COIL, students from both sides are able to have joint cross-cultural discussions & intercultural experiences that can enrich their course of study.
The VEC thrives to enhance intercultural competence and global perspectives of our students by engaging them in a collaborative learning experience with peers from across the globe. Hence, we are actively seeking COIL partners to collaborate on various academic disciplines.

Marketing Principles |

Description: |
It is a Pre-COIL activity and our students will form groups with students in an European University. Each group includes HK as well as overseas students. They will try to design marketing strategies for certain topic (e.g. E-Commerce, product/service for aging population). There will be a competition among the groups, and lecturers from HK (CIE) and European University will select the winning team. The activity aims to widen the horizon of business/marketing students and provide them a chance to interact with overseas students. |

Introduction to Film and New Media / Film Appreciation |

The objective of this course is to explore cross-cultural film to gain insight into how films reflect different cultures and storytelling traditions. Students from both institutions are encouraged to engage in the exchange of perspectives, with an aim to foster a global film community. |

Description: |
To develop students' proficiency in digital media within an international context, this course offers hands-on experience with multimedia tools for global communication. Participants will collaborate on projects using various platforms, from social media to mobile video, gaining insights into the universal language of digital expression and its cultural implications. The aim is to foster an understanding of visual communication and interactivity that transcends borders, preparing students for the interconnected digital landscape. |
