The International Peer Program

The International Peer Program is designed to help new international students transition to life at NCCU and in Taipei by connecting them with upper-year mature students called Peer Mentors. The program runs from September-February.

Benefits of the International Peer Program

  • Helps new students transition into university life.
  • Improves student interaction and the flow of communication.
  • Increases access to practical information and resources for new students.
  • Gives students the opportunity to meet other students from different backgrounds.
  • Provides current and new students with sharing and learning partnerships.
  • Gives tips and ideas on how to make the most of your experience at NCCU and in Taipei.
  • Helps students make the most out of social opportunities and local cultural experiences.

New International Students

The Office of International Cooperation (OIC) welcomes you to NCCU and Taipei! You’re about to embark on an exciting and fulfilling adventure, but even the most prepared and worldly incoming students can experience challenges and frustrations when transitioning to a new country and culture. The OIC is here to help make your transition as smooth as possible. One way we do this is through our peer mentorship program, which pairs you with an upper-year student who already knows their way around.

Get paired with an upper-year NCCU student (Peer Mentor)!

New degree students arriving for Fall Semester: You will receive an email from our team in early July to apply for the program. Once you have signed up, you will receive an email from our team in early-to-mid August, indicating the Peer Mentor you are matched to and your Peer Team.

Upper-year International Students

Your accumulated experience at NCCU and in Taiwan is an invaluable resource for new arrivals. Become a Peer Mentor and help others help make the transition you’ve already made so successfully. The Peer Mentors are actively supported by OIC staff, making sure you have the resources to give your incoming partner the information and assistance they need.

We are looking for upper-year mature students to become peer mentors each July. If you're interested in helping your peers adjust to the university experience, please email tzushu@g.nccu.edu.tw or sign up Peer Mentor Application.
