Volunteering is a great way to meet new people and support your community. There are lots of opportunities to get involved at NCCU, and you’re sure to find something that matches your schedule and interests.
At NCCU
There are several ways you can get involved in international activities right here at NCCU!
The OIC offers a variety of cultural, networking, and volunteer opportunities:
International Association (IA): the International Association helps incoming students transition into NCCU and promotes cultural understanding on campus by sponsoring cultural events and social activities.
OIC is always looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help plan and run various events throughout the year, including International Student Orientation, One-Stop Registration, Study Abroad Fair, and other international events on campus. Contact OIC for more information.
In the Community (coordinated by OIC)
The International Classroom is an NCCU community-outreach program that matches a local elementary school with NCCU volunteers as cultural ambassadors. In this semester-long program, NCCU volunteers visit an elementary school classroom, read to the children, tutor them in English, and share information about their home country. The children benefit from interacting with visitors from diverse backgrounds and cultures, and volunteers gain valuable experience from interacting with Taiwanese school children.
Target School: Zhinan Elementary School, Grade 3-6
Program Duration: March-April
