The 2025-2028 Academic Years Taiwan Studies Programme is based on the Memorandum of Understanding signed by the Ghent University, the University of Groningen, the University of Tartu, and the Department of International and Cross-Strait Education (DICE), Ministry of Education (MOE), Taiwan.
The “Taiwan Studies Programme at UGent/RUG//UTartu” has a duration of 3 academic years from the effective date of the signing by the Ministry of Education (MOE), Republic of China (Taiwan).
The goal of this 2nd call for applications is twofold as we aim to find:
1) a candidate (Taiwan Chair holder) for the first semester of the new academic year 2026-2027 in Ghent University (Belgium).
2) a candidate (Taiwan Chair holder) for the second semester of the new academic year 2026-2027 in the University of Groningen (The Netherlands).
Each of the two professorial fellowships offered by the programme in the framework of this second call for applications should be occupied by one candidate, with a duration of 4 months per stay.
DICE will provide the Professorial Fellow with a monthly allowance of 1,500 € and a round-trip international airline ticket (Max. 1,500 € airfare per person). Additionally, Ghent University, the University of Groningen and the University of Tartu, when acting as the respective hosting institution, will provide the Professorial Fellow with housing. Furthermore, the respective host universities will provide the Professorial Fellow with all necessary facilities such as office space, a computer and secretarial support.
DEADLINE FOR APPLICATIONS: For both positions the applications should be submitted the latest by Friday 27 March 2026, 9:00 am CET.
The selection results will be announced by the end of April 2026.
