Verification of diploma and academic transcripts
1. For degrees conferred by schools in Taiwan, there is no need to independently validate diplomas or transcripts.
2. For degrees conferred by schools in other countries (excluding Hong Kong, Macau, and Mainland China), diplomas and transcripts must be notarized by the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (TECO) or ROC Embassy in the relevant country. If the original documents are not in Chinese or English, they must be translated into either Chinese or English and such translations must also be confirmed and notarized by the TECO or ROC Embassy in the relevant country.
3. For degrees conferred by schools in Hong Kong or Macau, please see the “Academic Credential Verification and Accreditation Methods Adopted in Hong Kong and Macao” for verification requirements.
4. For degrees conferred by schools in Mainland China which are specifically recognized by MOE, follow the “Regulations Governing the Accreditation of Schools in Mainland China” for verification requirements.
Photocopies of original documents may be submitted to the TECO or Embassy; however, make sure to submit both the original document and the verification to the OIC.
