Health Examination

Taiwan law requires all international exchange students to complete a health examination in their home country before entering Taiwan.

1. For semester-long exchange students:

Please use Form C. This health examination must include two items: 1) Measles and Rubella (MMR) immunization; and 2) chest X-ray test for tuberculosis (TB).

MMR immunization proof must show the vaccination was administered after one year of age.

The chest X-ray must be dated within three months of your planned arrival in Taiwan. Please do not submit the x-ray film or results on CD.

Please note that all the documents must be either in English or Chinese. If the documents are not in either language, you must submit English or Chinese translations that are verified by an official Taiwan overseas representative office (e.g., TECO or embassy). Please note that such verification may take several working days. Contact your nearest representative office for details and instructions.

If you are unable to complete this health examination in your home country, you may (at your own expense of NTD1000 to 2000) get a health check at specified facilities in Taiwan after arrival (see detailed information in the attachment). However, you are strongly advised to complete the health exam form in your home country.

2. For year-long exchange students:

You must complete a health examination using Form B in your home country to apply for a resident visa and ARC.

If you apply for a resident visa while in Taiwan, you will need to have a health exam at any Taiwan CDC designated hospital (see https://reurl.cc/4XWQ12).
