  • Valid visa or entry permit: If you do not hold a Resident Visa, please click here. If you have any questions about the medical examination requirements for applying for a Resident Visa, please click here
  • Foreign diplomas and transcripts: Documents that are verified by the Taiwan Embassy/Representative Office in the country of the institution that has issued the official document
  • Air ticket: Plan to arrive several days before the first day of classes to recover from jetlag, adjust to your new environment, and attend the international student orientation session
  • Register for the international orientation session
  • Register for New Student Registration
  • Make copies of your passport and other key documents, keep them separate from the originals, and upload digital copies to Dropbox or Google Drive.
  • NCCU acceptance letter

  • Please activate the overseas withdrawal function on your account, or ensure that you have sufficient cash for the initial payment (registration fee) and living expenses such as food, household items, and transportation while abroad. Prior to your departure, make sure that your debit and credit cards will be accessible overseas.
  • Medications: Bring any medications required for existing medical conditions. While most over-the-counter and prescription medicines are available in Taiwan at reasonable prices, they may go by different brand names, so bring detailed prescription information with you.
  • An extra pair of eyeglasses or contact lenses, if needed.
  • Consider bringing photographs, souvenirs, music, crafts, videos, recipes, and traditional clothing from your home country to help share your culture with your new friends in Taiwan. You can also use such items as part of the NCCU annual Culture Night, where international students are invited to share with the community about their country and culture.
