Postal Account

The postal office provides services, including delivery of mail, postal savings, remittance, and simple life insurance. It also offers limited banking services. To open a postal account in the postal office, please go to any postal offices with the following items ready:
 

  1. New Account Application Form
  2. Alien Resident Certificate (ARC)
  3. Valid Passport
  4. A seal with your Chinese name in traditional characters
  5. Minimum deposit of NT$100


For those who want to open an account and yet without an ARC card, please bring your passport to the National Immigration Agency first and apply for ROC Uniform ID Number. The Application Form for an ARC number could be found in the following link:

The postal office closest to NCCU is Wenshang Zhinan branch.
It is located at the corner cross the street of the NCCU front gate.

 

Bank Account

General and complete banking services (including monetary exchange services and electronic banking services) in NT dollars are provided by banks off campus. Therefore, we strongly suggest you to open an account at the First Commercial Bank, where NCCU does most transactions.  

To open a bank account, you are required to do the following:

 

  1. Bring your ARC, passport, and a seal with your Chinese name in traditional characters (signature can also apply) to the bank.
  2. Use your Chinese name as the account name.
  3. Deposit a minimum of NT$1,000

Students under 20 years old needs special permission to open a bank account, thus students under 20 years old are strongly recommended to open a postal account instead of a bank account.

 

The First Bank branch closest to NCCU is Muzha branch.
It is a few bus stops away from NCCU.
